A Single Voice.

One Way Theatre’s 2026 Season theme points us to how one voice can make a difference -in an individual’s life and in a larger sense to the world. In the book of Isaiah, chapter forty, we read a joyous, prophetic proclamation pointing to the coming of a savior into the world to cover the sins of Jerusalem and the World. In verse three it says, “A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”. We are told in the first chapter of the gospel of Luke that John the Baptizer is this voice, preparing the way for the LORD, for Jesus Himself. What greater example of God using someone’s voice to make a difference, to call his people to prepare, to ready themselves for the coming of their savior into the world in human form?!

Each of the stories our three programs will tell this coming year – MainStage, Summer Camps, and LegacyStage – have singular voices making a stand for or against something. We as Christians are called in 1 Peter 3:15b to “always be[ing] prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect”. So we ought to use our voices individually and collectively to represent a true witness of the hope we have because of Christ and to use our voices to speak the truth. It is our hope that we will learn to do just that as we rehearse, perform, and experience these stories.

I am excited for this coming year—both for the stories and for the students and participants who will be a part of OWT's programs. It is my prayer that together we will have a fun time of learning, creating theatre, and growing in boldness to use our voices for Christ. I hope you will join me!

Because of Christ,
