What is
One Way Theatre?
Community.
Christian.
Theatre.
OWT's mission is to use our skills and talents to glorify God through compelling, quality theatre.

Meet the Founders
Since forming One Way Theatre in 2016, Joanna Heram and Ashley Zietlow have worked together tirelessly to make their dream a reality for students. Producing full-scale plays and musicals, and teaching summer camps and classes, all while managing the administrative side of the theatre, has meant facing challenges and joys they never could have imagined at the start. Today they continue to spearhead bringing quality theatre to home educated youth, community adults, and audiences of all ages throughout the greater La Crosse, WI region.

Ashley Zietlow
Ashley's dedication to OWT's mission stems from her passion for youth to experience quality theatre. It is her steady focus on the mission that guides everything from show selection to creative designs. Her hats range from resident Stage Manager to Costume Designer.

Joanna Heram
Joanna's attention to detail and driven personality are the impetus for many of the new programs and operating systems at OWT. Yet she most loves mentoring "her kids" (as she calls her students) and bringing stories to life onstage as OWT's resident director.
Our Programs
Each year's season looks different in our available opportunities, yet families have come to look forward to our three primary program offerings!
Students spend several months producing a full length play or musical. They fill roles in every department from backstage, onstage, administrative, and mentored leadership positions. It's where intensive growth happens with time to spend on skills and application, within theatre and life. Ready to start climbing?
Campers ages 6 to 12 spend one week being introduced to and exploring aspects of theatre with an emphasis on imagination and using theatrical ability to praise God while producing a 30 minute musical. It's level one, 'basecamp'— where students get a big picture view of theatre and the fun it can be!
A community theatre option for adults in a fun, Christian environment. Participants produce full length plays or musicals that are both discussion catalysts and uplifting entertainment. It's where anyone can discover community and growth, and where creatives can foster skills. Join us, further up and further in!
